3N Cave, Largest World's Salts Cave

This Salt cavern called 3N is situated on a mountain in Iran. Salt cave is listed as the largest salt cave in the world. This salt cave has a length of 6580 meters and width of which reaches 40 meters. One uniqueness of this salt cave is a formation process that occurs naturally. Passage in this cave is always changing according to circumstances from time to time. Actual width of the cave passage is not known for certain but it is expected, its size can reach several tens of meters or even hundreds of meters away!

3N Cave River
During the hurricane, the flow of the river cut off the cave wall on one side and at the same time the river flow to fill the empty space with sendimen on the other. The cave also serves as the basic flow of the winding river.

3N Cave Location
Salt cave is located in the eastern part of the Zagros Mountains and the Persian Gulf. As already known that the Zagros Mountains region is a place where many emerging mountains and caves of salt (called also by the term "diapir", which means breakthrough (intrusive) rocks because of differences in pressure and buoyancy). The amount of salt diapir located in these mountains amounted to more than 200 pieces and is expressed as the formation of karst (karst is a formation in the earth's surface that is generally characterized by the existence of a closed depression, surface drainage, and caves), the biggest and best in the world.

Salt Precipitation Process
Salt mountains that form the stored / deposited more than half a billion years in a valley basin. Precipitated salt itself is in a dry and warm climate. After tens of billions of years old salt deposits were covered by other sendimen rocks (limestone and sandstone) and the volcanic rocks. That way these salts have been "buried" at a depth of several kilometers from the earth's surface. Because getting high pressure at those depths and karenan high plasticity, the salt began to surface of the earth in the form of a cylinder which has a diameter of up to several meters. And this is the beginning of the beginning formed the salt cave.

Some other nice pic to see!
